[edit] Setting Up a Stage
Partying in the forest may sound easy, (and it sometimes is ;)) But there are real technical and logistical challenges to be faced in setting up your stage. Use this page as a central resource to collect information on doing it successfully.
[edit] Equipment
To run a sound system you need a few things at minimum.
- Speakers
- Media and Players (laptop, cdj's, turntables, microphones, headphones, etc)
- A Power Source
[edit] Power
There are a number of ways to power a soundsystem. This forum discussion provides some useful information: [1]
- Gas Fired Generator is the traditional favorite
- Solar Power ($$)
- Batteries clean and safe source of power if anyone is interested in setting up a car audio soundsystem you can contact us: geto.blast@gmail.com we will try to get a guide together sharing our experiences with this configuration
- Bicycle power is not very efficient, so should only be used as a backup power source to a battery-based system. However, at least one soundsystem is powered by bicycle, and you should check out these websites if you're interested rindky-dink altpedalgen
It would be a good idea to get some type of Inverter[2] to move the juice along the lines at your soundsystem.
[edit] Structures
There are all sorts of fun and usefull structures you can build to house your party. Here's a list with links
[edit] Getting There
Now that you have all this stuff, you need a way to get it to your party!! What better way than a recycled-vegetable-oil fired Schoolbus! [7]

looking for a spot for a performer who does a live-pa sort of thing on his huge keyboard. he loads samples, including the back beat, into the workstation, and triggers them live using the keyboard - awesome to see and hear! --Bennyp 12:05, 16 Apr 2005 (EST)
