- Freespace genny?
- propane genny?
Check out the SoundSystems#Power page for more power info
[edit] Lighting
LEDs - expensive and bright ones are $1 each, but since we'll be stringing them in the trees, we can use the cheaper ones (price) Perhaps we can take a strip of rubber, and poke the LED's through holes in the strip, then wrap the rest of the strip around the wire.
[edit] Shitters
Composting toilets can be made by digging a ditch, putting a seat over it and then placing dry wood chips next to the latrine.
Old newspapers (Vegetable-ink ONLY!! check your local printers) are great for T.P.
(IGA uses vegetable in for their flyers)
[edit] Mutantfest.org DIY latrines
Deep narrow trenches at least 3 feet deep are best. Keep the excavated soil in a neat pile for fill-in later. Cut out sod, and preserve it for replacement over the filled hole.
Ashes from a wood fire should be kept nearby, to be sprinkled on top of your leavings to reduce odor . Dirt is then shoveled back in on top gradually, to keep your waste covered completely. The pit is filled in all the way when the contents come up to within 18 inches of the surrounding ground level, and a new pit is dug nearby.
Ideally, hand washing facilities with chlorinated water are provided nearby. Large coffee cans or other rainproof covers are provided for toilet paper. Signs should be placed on the trails nearest by, and colored tape marks the path to a latrine.
Everyone with their SHIT together (hehe) should bring a shovel to dig a latrine for their camp!
[edit] Sound Bleed
Sound bleed occurs when sounds from two different sources can be heard at the same time in one area, and last year I felt that we had a pretty big problem with this in some spots. But this year we have a better site, so if we work together a little we can make sure nobody has any problems with getting drowned out by bigger systems.
uhh ohhhh, the sounds are going to be fucking loud too this year..1!1'
I found this to be a huge problem last year. I think a possible solution is to put sound systems back-to-back, pointing the respective speakers away from each other! It may be difficult because there will be so many systems!!
