just as the title suggests, this is where you go when you're frustrated with anything freetekno and need to get it out into the open to be discussed.
trouble shooting the wiki
how can we make this interface easier to manipulate?
- I believe it in an issue of information sorting, right now there isn't all to much, but it is hard for users to take ownership or interest in topics that are not given a framework to exist within.
- text, text, text. I propse that graphical content can be used to sort information and create more streamlined (but still felxible) ways to navigate information and so, make it more appealing to contribute!
how can we attract people to an interactive text book such as this
- word of mouth? -email individual sound systems and invite them to partake!
- perhaps some clever placement of information that can draw the user in? like a flashy cover page or front page headline as NewsPapers do?
how user friendly is the wiki?
- can we publish a more obvious tutorial on wiki useage that leans toward more editing of the more basic framework of the site as it is now? - call me retarded
- is it possible to create java boxes where users can dump info and click 'where it's going' boxes to file it? (as aposed to forcing users to surf and follow links through and through until they're at the point (again) where they know they should file themselves...is there a list of tags somwhere?
- I'm generating graphics in hopes that we can use the wiki software to 'govern' the information for a more sexy website. the purpose will be the same, but the map I'm working on I feel will be more compelling and interesting to users who come here. it will lend itself to a more polished and original feel and look. the purpose being that people will want to contribute to a styalised application and not one that looks so factory! an atempt to illustrate what's in my head in the discussion the main page
